Re-constructed Overdyed Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons Man x Pointer Brand Tailored Jacket

An original pair of Pointer Brand carpenter overalls re-worked into a tailored jacket by Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons Man for their Spring — Summer 2006 Re-constructed Workwear Collection. Pointer Brand is the trademark of The L. C. King Manufacturing Company, an American manufacturer of traditionally styled workwear from Bristol, Tennessee. The company, founded in 1913, produces hand-sewn bib overalls, coveralls, carpenter jeans, hunting apparel and chore coats from high-quality locally sourced fabrics. The company is still run by descendants of its founder, Landon Clayton King, who was a breeder of champion birddogs and one of them features on the company’s logo.

The jacket features a generous cut with no vent on the back, two chest pockets (one with a flap and stud button closure and one bearing an original Pointer Brand Birddog logo woven patch), two side high quality pockets with interior tool pockets and two patch-style pockets on the lower back. Other features include original deliberately aged Pointer Brand brass stud buttons, a distressed brass YKK zip fastener detail, contrasting white generic plastic buttons and contrasting white stitching. The jacket is over-dyed in deep black.

The jacket features dual branding — the original Pointer Brand birddog logo woven patch remains on the chest patch pocket whilst an over-dyed Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons Man label is placed just underneath the neckline. An original square Pointer Brand care and size label is sewn onto the lapel of the jacket.

Fabric Composition: 100% treated cotton.
