Levi’s® 501®XX Vintage 1966 Capital E Redline Selvage Indigo Jean Customised by JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARÇONS MAN for Autumn – Winter 2008 – 2009 Collection

A pair of Japan-made Levi’s® 501®XX Vintage 1966 Indigo jean in 14oz red selvage denim has been taken apart, re-cut, lined in red Gingham check-patterned cotton fabric by triple-needle-stitching the lining to the jean in red thread and then sewed back together with red cotton thread.

The jeans retain such original Levi’s features as button-fly, copper rivets on front of jean, two-sided Levi’s Capital E pocket tag. 14oz right-hand twill weave redline selvage Japanese denim. Original Levi’s V-stitch near the top button. and . Front pockets have copper rivets.

Rear pockets have no hidden rivets and feature the original Levi’s “diamond” effect Arcuate designs, double-needle-stitched in yellow. Red Gingham fabric details, double-needle stitching along the edges and bar tacking in red have been added by Junya Watanabe.

Double-felled inseam in red. Outside seam has redline selvage inside (no selvage on the inside of the top edge of the coin pocket).

Condition: New without tags.

Size on label: Medium / W34 L36.

Actual measurements when laid flat: Waist 32 inches (measures 16 inches/40.5 cm across), inseam 30 inches/76 cm, U or rise measurement (from front top of the waistband going under the crotch then to the back top of the waistband) – 28 inches/71 cm, front crochet (from top of the jean to the crotch – point of intersection of the two legs of the jean) – 12 inches/30 cm, outseam – 40 inches/101.5 cm, bottom leg opening – 8 inches/20.5 cm.
