LEVI'S® Vintage 501®XX 1915 Cone Mills Collaboration Plain Selvedge Shrink-to-fit Rigid Jean

In 1915 Cone Denim Mills from Greensboro, North Carolina were approached by LS&CO as a supplier of premium quality denim, which was the beginning of almost 100 years of co-operation between the companies. These jeans were released to mark this occasion, replicating the combination of Cone denim fabric and fit from 1915.

Brand new with all tags. The jean comes with a special unbleached cotton LVC tote bag and hard-cover 501®: The Evolution of the Jean 32-pages book bound in the same untreated off-white cotton. The book comes in own drawstring LVC cotton bag and contains the history of the 501® jeans as well as high-quality glossy prints and descriptions of all models from 1890 until the present day.

Features: Cone Mills 9 oz (12 oz after wash) Plain Selvedge right-hand twill XX (highest quality) denim, no Red Selvedge (Cone started individualizing LS&CO's denim with a red thread running through the selvedge edge in 1920's so as to differentiate it from the fabric they made for their other customers) and no red Tab (first sewn into the right back pocket in 1936 to identify Levi's jeans from the competition), 2 back pockets with exposed rivets (the second (often called the fifth) left-hand pocket was introduced in 1901 because of consumer requests), no bar tacking, single-needle stitched Arcuate, Two Horse leather patch, no V-stitich near the top button, top button and suspender buttons signed 4170 on the back, cinch, no belt loops (belt loops were added to the design of 501® jeans in 1922, as younger men preferred to wear their pants with a belt at the time), crotch rivet, watch pocket with rivets and plain selvage on the inside of the top edge, single-felled inseam, button fly.
